FortyNote v11 is here, and it's the biggest update we've ever shipped. After months of building and testing, we're rolling out a suite of AI-powered features that fundamentally change what a note-taking app can do.

At the center of v11 is a completely redesigned editor. It's faster, more flexible, and built around the way people actually write — with inline AI suggestions, smart formatting, and a distraction-free mode that keeps you in flow.

AI Transcribe is now available as a free browser tool at fortynote.com/ai-transcribe. Record your voice and get a transcript in your browser — no account needed.

AI Diagrams lets you turn plain text into flowcharts, mind maps, and org charts in seconds. Describe what you want, and FortyNote generates a clean, editable diagram. No drag-and-drop required.

We've also shipped major improvements to the PDF Editor and the Web Clipper.

Taking notes during a meeting is one of the most common productivity traps — you're either fully present in the conversation, or you're writing. You can't do both well. AI Meeting Note Taker solves this.

Paste your meeting transcript into FortyNote and the AI extracts everything that matters: a summary, key discussion points, decisions made, and action items with owners and due dates. It reads what you actually said — not a generic template.

The parser understands natural conversation. It detects speaker lines in any common format, identifies action verbs to find commitments, and pulls out decisions from phrases like 'we agreed' or 'confirmed'. The output is a clean, structured note you can share immediately.

AI Meeting Note Taker is available now on all plans. Professional users also get automatic meeting summaries emailed to all attendees.

When we started FortyNote, we wanted to build the note-taking app we wished existed — fast, private, and genuinely useful. The response since launch has been beyond anything we expected.

The growth has been driven by word of mouth more than anything else. People share FortyNote with their colleagues, their classmates, their families. That trust means everything to us, and it's what drives us to keep building.

To everyone who has been with us since the early days, and to everyone who joined last week — thank you. We're just getting started.

If you're new here, the best place to start is the free plan. No credit card, no time limit, no catch.

PDFs are everywhere in knowledge work — research papers, contracts, reports, slide decks. Until now, working with them meant switching to a separate app, making edits, and then trying to connect those changes back to your notes. That workflow is broken.

The FortyNote PDF Editor brings everything into one place. Highlight and annotate directly on the PDF. Add sticky notes. Merge multiple PDFs into one document. Password-protect sensitive files. And because it's built into FortyNote, every annotation is searchable alongside your notes.

The PDF Converter is also available — convert PDFs to Word, Excel, or plain text with one click. Useful for extracting content from scanned documents or reformatting reports.

Both tools are available on Personal and Professional plans. Try them on the PDF Editor page.

Teams have different needs than individual users — centralized user management, clear roles, and the ability to share notebooks without exposing private notes. Today we're shipping the tools to meet those needs.

Shared notebooks now use per-notebook encryption keys. When you invite a teammate, their copy of the key is encrypted to their public key in your browser before it's sent — and neither does the account owner for notebooks they weren't invited to.

Admins now have a dedicated console for user provisioning, role management, and billing. Roles are owner, admin, and member. Add or remove seats any time — minimum 2 seats.

These features are available on the Flexible Teams plan. Start a trial or contact us to learn more.
